Information of the Recall on the Driver's Airbag Issue

November 19, 2014 - First of all, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. would like to thank our customers in trusting Honda products.

Referring to the recall announcement by Honda Motor Co., Ltd. on the driver’s side airbag issue, we would like to inform that this is related to the inflator of the airbag. Based on investigation, we found out a possible problem during the inflator’s production process at the airbag supplier. There is a possibility that the inflator might deliver a higher pressure than standard in case of the frontal accident.

For the Philippine market, the vehicles which are affected by this case is the Honda City model year 2003 - 2004 , of which the frame numbers are listed in the table below.

To ensure the confidence of our customers, Honda is sending letter-notices to concerned customers and/or owners and will be contacted by Honda dealers through phone. Honda is announcing this safety recall to encourage all affected owners to take their vehicles to an authorized dealer to have the inflator replaced free of charge.

In any case the affected vehicle has already been sold; original owners are requested to inform the dealership immediately in order to inform the transferee of this safety campaign.

We would like to inform you that this is a precautionary measurement to ensure the highest safety of our customers which is our highest priority and we would like to apologize for any inconvenience this might caused.
