Business viewpoint to focus on:
Effective utilization of corporate resources
2050 Environmental and Safety Targets:
Honda will work comprehensively to address challenges in the areas of the environment and safety.
Honda will strive to realize carbon neutrality for all products and corporate activities Honda is involved in by 2050. Striving for “zero environmental impact†of not only its products but the entire product life cycle including its corporate activities, Honda will focus on carbon neutrality, clean energy, and resource circulation as the “three-pillars†of its initiatives.
Honda will also strive for zero traffic collision fatalities involving Honda motorcycles and automobiles globally by 2050. Honda will continue to strengthen research on safety technologies that enable motorcycles and automobiles to safely coexist and lead the way in realizing a collision-free society from the standpoint of both hardware and software.
Strategy for Automobile Electrification:
Setting “elimination of our environmental impact†as an overarching theme, Honda has been striving for the environmental target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. Accordingly, Honda has been working to increase the ratio of electric vehicles (EVs) and fuel cell vehicles (FCVs) in overall unit sales in all major markets combined to 40% by 2030, 80% by 2035 and then 100% globally by 2040.
Initiatives:
Forest for Life Movement with Haribon Foundation
Honda Foundation’s partnership with Haribon aims to restore Philippine rainforests. Since 2010, 50,000 native trees species such as Narra, Apitong, and Lauan have been planted in over 36.2 hectares of damaged forests. Aside from recovering biodiversity, clean air and water, resilience to climate change and natural hazards, the project provides options for sustainable livelihood to nearby communities.
Bantay Baterya and Bantay Langis
Since 2006, HCPI and its Suppliers and Dealers have donated 7,028 pieces of used lead acid batteries and 16,104 liters of used oil to the ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation’s Bantay Baterya and Bantay Langis programs. These programs aim to minimize land and water pollution through the proper disposal of hazardous lead-acid and industrial oils. The funds generated are used to protect and preserve the La Mesa Watershed and the La Mesa Eco Park.
One Honda Road Safety (1HRS)
Honda companies in the Philippines unite to help have more responsible road users who value life and safety. The 1HRS Program aims to reduce road accidents through road safety education and collaboration with the different sectors of society. Carrying the theme "Road Safety for Our Family", the program focuses on three major thrusts: educate the public to become safe and responsible road users; promote vehicle safety technology through actual customer experience; and collaborate with concerned sectors of society.
TeenSMART
The Teen Smart program is a partnership among HCPI, Sta. Rosa Department of Education, Sta. Rosa Local Government and the Honda Safety Driving Center to provide interactive seminar workshops to pre-licensing aged senior high school students in select public schools in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna. The program is part of the One Honda Road Safety Program that aims to reduce road accidents through road safety education to develop a “Road Safety Mindsetâ€. These learning sessions equip students with knowledge on human-vehicle-environment relationships to prepare them for their future responsibility of ensuring road safety through responsible driving, riding, and pedestrian behavior.
